Our Story
Built on a legacy.

Patrick James, Inc. carries a lineage that runs deeper than its own name. Our founder, Jim, spent nearly two decades learning the craft of fine hand-tufted carpet under company founder and family Grandmother, Aimee Lacey, at Lacey Champion — once regarded as among the finest hand-tufting mills in the world.
It was understood that Jim would one day lead the mill himself. But after years of creative and personal differences, he made a decision that would define the next chapter of his life: he left on a Friday, and by Monday, Patrick James, Inc. was born.
That was in 2005. What began as a single craftsman's insistence on doing things his own way has grown into a full-service custom manufacturer spanning hand-tufted, hand-knotted, Axminster, and flat-weave constructions — serving the most discerning clients in hospitality, private estates, government, and beyond.
Two decades later, the values haven't changed. Every rug we produce still carries the same standard Jim learned at the loom as a young man.
